![]() Lady in waiting for M lady EmmaA Poem by Poeticpiers![]() story poem![]() Lady in waiting. The night wind sings a lullaby around the attic nursery. Which I prepared so hopefully. But now it’s filled with misery. For cancer set its claws in me. I had a hysterectomy. When I was only twenty three. My cherished dream can never be. We shared such dreams my man and I That we would raise a family. But now I weep and wonder why my husband still wants to be with me. Although he says he loves me still I can’t be sure he always will. Now that I know I can’t fulfil the dreams we shared. My eyes still fill with bitter tears I cannot shed. The dreams we shared are long since dead. A childless future lies ahead. But there is hope my husband said. We could adopt a child or two. A girl for me a boy for you. and that is what we’re going to do A cherished dream we can renew. We can still have a family to occupy the nursery. Which will dispel my misery. I view the future hopefully. It sometimes takes a tragedy to wake us up so we can see. A golden opportunity a plan on which we both agree The night winds sing a lullaby and very soon now so shall I. To pacify my own baby Alerted by his smallest cry .Tuesday, 26 January 2010 http://blog.myspace/poeticpiers © 2010 Poeticpiers |
