What Did I Do?

Written 10/20/14 when a friend betrayed my trust

What did I do to deserve this?

I've shown you nothing but kindness

I was your friend

I stood by you

Now this

is unacceptable

I won't be treated this way

I'm not a doormat

Get your act together

Because I might not be there later

To pick up the pieces

If you take me for granted

I'll leave

I hate to do it

But I have to do what's best for me

And you are becoming toxic

I won't drink poison

I won't be weakened

By someone who tries to pull me down

I've been around for long enough

What did I do to deserve this

There's no excuse

for ignoring me

It's the final straw
