Nothing is different

Nothing is the same

Everything seems awful

When we think we're to blame

We make our decisions

We follow our paths

Hoping it works

With our potential other halves

We hit a snag

And get really scared

How can we enjoy life

When we feel so unprepared?

Each moment brings us joy

Each thought brings us fear

We don't know what comes next

Or year after year

There's a lot to do yet

Many battles to be won

I'm not through with us now

We don't feel quite done

Keep planning your life

I'll still be here

Your heart is something

I hold very dear

If this chapter truly ends

And our journeys start to split

You'll always have me
