Miles Defined Us

Miles Defined Us

A Poem by poison&kerosene

I could have loved you forever

Given the choice,

I could have listened to the beating of your heart

Patter into a rhythmic lullaby

Every night Laid beside you

I would have given you the world

If you would have seen it with me

Sadly, our scenery will change

As will your heart

As will mine

Love is difficult. Need two people with the same need in the same place. I liked Donne logic. "You do not find love, love find you." I understand this poem. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Beautifully written p&k. A lovely bit about a relational break-up that says all anyone would need to know about the scars that are laid down and dealt with.

Good write.

I went through a similar situation some 50 years ago now. The writing definitely helps.
