They said you loved me

They said you loved me

A Poem by prometheus
"

A brief poem examing LGBTQ rights and the Church

"
They said you love me.
That youre gracious
Kind.
Slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
Yet here I stand.
The 10th beating
skin failing, blood spewing like ribbons by our ballet dancers
My bones arch, broken. Convert.
Repent
Sinner
F****t
Evil.
They called me scum.
Told me my atrraction was a sin.
They killed Adam, starved him.
Gods Judgement they called it
Gods justice anger
Another beating, another whip.
As I look at you.
head crowned with thorns,
blood on your brow.
I scream:
"they Said you loved me"

Very powerful indeed, but the Lord loves us all.

A very powerful indictment on religion told from truth. Love in its purity is without hate or judgement, anger or rage. It is unconditional and eternal. If we are to accept the premise that God is love, then religion must come to terms that only man can hate. Be true to your heart, yourself, and to love. Thank you for sharing this thought provoking poem, that has a powerful message and lesson for many to learn.
