A Poem by rt farris
"

i'm reflecting a perspective

"
take
your silver dollar
and slip it into
a banker's
manicured hand
and watch it
grow a little
for you

but then
he'll stare unblinking
into a mysterious abyss
of calculations
on a computer screen
not unlike gazing
into a crystal ball
and turn that silver
dollar into a dozen
just like it

then he'll leave you
standing and staring
wide-eyed
at his backside
as he strolls away
the new coins nestled
nicely in the
deep pockets of
expensive well-tailored
apparel while his
conscience is nowhere
to be found

it had been made
to disappear
centuries

Uncle Sam is an excellent magician as well...been saying, "look over here" while the coin goes up the other sleeve for years! Over two trillion the year of 911 2001 and over a trillion again just a few years ago...and they talk about a deficit! HA! A trillion dollars is enough to give one million people a million dollars each. And they said, "you couldn't have a conspiracy in Washington...do you know how many people you'd have to pay off?" Well, a million million is a lot of hush money. I'm just saying. But you've got it right on the bankers as well...and your piece here is excellent!
