Flabbergasted and awestruck.
They said I'd have seven years of bad luck.
If I smashed the mirror.
Turns out ...
... I've never been able to see more clearly ....

yes. we can't move on or past if we're still stuck looking at the same things both figuratively and.. read more
I know about that seven years bad luck thingy and it wasn't from a broken mirror. It was called bankruptcy, courtesy of ex-husband and bad life choices. All water under the bridge now, thank God. All a broken mirror got me was a finger cut. Both can make you see things more clearly, my friend.
P.S. Thoreau had to be the most brilliant among mortal men, eh? Well, maybe next to you.
