i sang your praises in a poverty of faith

now my spirit is free

free to float

free to cross heaven's wide moat

free to go on a living spree

one by one

the stones have all been rolled away

the light is back

a round trip miracle of braille trust

traveled in the graveyard of a confrontational wraith

see me

hear me

love me

hate me

accuse me

abandon me

shackle me

kill me

even hide the key

with crooked arms and crippled legs

i saw the round hole of heaven like so many other square pegs

along with the shrapnel of other lost dregs

never mistaken

never forsaken

as wide as the sacred sea

truer than night

more right than day

shining in an unbreakable high beam of light

owning eternity and sharing it

your creation carved in timeless, revelous scripts

First, before even reading your poem I have to say, the Thoreau upper quote reminded me of my father...he used to say (in Hebrew...:) Yakira'le, tell me the beginning an the end the rest is a story. The same with my dear friend and author A. who upon reading my attempt at a novel said...(in English and Hebrew) Yakira'le cut the F*** adjectives! I cut everything until I got to poetry...the rest is history...:) Thank you for the wonderful reminisce about powerful men in my life...:)

Going back to Thoreau in lower quote...I believe the soul grows by both subtraction and expansion---sorta like breathing...in n' out...give and take... life and death---the nature of all things...subtraction alone is nihilation...that is antithesis to creation. Just sayin' :)

in agreement with you . i like your analogy of breathing. i think what thoreau meant is that it grows by faith when we're faced with the subtractions of trials and tribulations and grow closer and rely on him in obedience. not sure why he said. "not addition" - perhaps it is implied, will never know. love this share ... :)

It was not God's doing but man! Just like the origin sin....what was it? Not that she ate from the apple...but that God asked Adam what have you done? And he said...its the woman You gave me...she made me do it! not only did he blame her but blamed Him for the defective merchandise He gave him. Such an ungrateful prick. That's why we are still in the condition we are...blam blam blam...blam him for giving us Heaven that we turned into hell...well that's my take...enuff said😎

easier said than done but true. faith is a funny thing - so often there when we don't need it and not there when we do. james said that faith without works is dead. creation is awesome indeed with his song in our souls. the chosen people learned this truth wandering in the desert for forty years eating quail and manna, defeating many foes and eventually reaching the promised land ... :)

yeah, right? can you imagine, he fed them bread every day. all they had to do was go out and collect and after a while they complained so he sent them quail - talk about a drive thru window.
we must remember to count our blessings and give thanks always ... :)
