The mazed aspect being part of the season itself...we are part of nature, in a way she symbolises changes within us also and as the leaves start to mutate so do us humans in a way...you have a skill for concise articulation Pete :) Not sure I explained my thoughts very well on this piece though lol

I love autumn. (I hate pumpkin, though) You captured in your simple lines the essence of what autumn is. Cool nights, crisp days, the herald of winter. And, for those of us in the throes of 'second summer,' relief from heat and humidity!

Yes the nights are drawing in and there is a distinct chill in the air as the season has changed. This Haiku is ace Pete, especially that middle line which is genius.

I got a cord of firewood delivered today, so now I'm set for winter *mmmm*
