Dancing In The Dark

Dancing In The Dark

A Poem by Pete
"

To forget all about your mistakes adds to them perhaps. - Thoreau

"
Why we need skeletons in our closet.

hanging neatly from double-jointed hangers
rings on their fingers and bells on their toes
arid, ashen bones rattle in a sinister percussion
dancing in the dark
laughing at me despite their jaws being wired
oh, i'm so tired of these skeletons in my closet
as i scratch my head and posit

i yell at them to go away and leave me alone
but they jiggle even more
at heaven's pearly gate and hell's larvaed shore
strutting
teasing, taunting
threatening and daunting
as they form their own garage band
because they know they can
besides, who am i but a mere travelin' man

Author's Note

"It is a momentous fact that a man may be good, or he may be bad; his life may be true, or it may be false; it may be either a shame or a glory to him. The good man builds himself up; the bad man destroys himself." - Thoreau

I have written a few poems on this particular topic. I love the garage band of skeletons in the closets disrupting you calm.

I feel if we confess to God and tell Him our trials and misdeeds and ask for guidance He will forgive us like no before we forgive ourselves.

This was so creative and quite comical making it lighter in tone so that it doesn’t weighed down the reader too much.

Maybe we can have a skeleton garage band concert with your and mine lmao 🤣

thanks fgf, be careful when you open those closet doors.
If you do have any skeletons in your closer, I suggest you give it deep thought before entering politics.
