Your voice

Your voice

A Poem by Dave Solis
"

Just a little of my broken brain

"
I hear your voice my little one singing in the rain,
Although I cannot clearly tell exactly what your saying.
I can hear your voice with all the children in the park,
I cannot find you to make sure you get home before its dark.
I can hear your voice asking for things while at the store,
But your not there when I hand them to you at the door.
I can hear your voice while I'm walking on the beach,
I follow it down the shore, end up walking for a week.
I can hear your voice in the city all around,
I want to say I love you but your nowhere to be found.
I can hear your voice when the wind begins to blow,
Your quit pleading tone asking "dad why did you go"?
I can hear your voice when the birds begin to sing,
I cry cause I can't block out all the memories it brings.
I can hear your voice but it turns out all along,
I can hear your voice even though that you are gone,
I can hear your voice when I lay down in my bed,
I can hear your voice but it's only in my head.
