clair de lune

clair de lune

A Poem by emily
"

a poem about a song that means a lot to me.

"
it didn't really affect me before.
i guess i took it for granted.
sure, the soft notes and the changes in octaves
made my heart warm at the time.

but
things are different now.
because of what happened
the song has completely transformed
it suddenly got too loud for comfort
but i'm glad it isn't completely silent anymore.

the way you spin this scene is brilliant says i ... i'm hooked by the title ...i recognize it of course but have never really listened to it (now i will) i like the "immersion" .. i am instantly put in the scene with your speaker .. like in dreaming .. suddenly we are "there" ;) and the song as metaphor .. a life once sweet and beautiful .. now has become broken ..the song loud and disquieting .. well done .. so nice to meet you ..right here at the Cafe'
E.
ps. just listened to it and do recognize it .. impressive too! :)

Hi Emily

I loved reading your Poem - it made me think on several levels. I'm thinking that the enjoyment of the song has changed, because of someone else? But also, I can't help feeling that the subject of the Poem had been hearing-impaired, but now can hear ??

Thank you for sharing,
x

This was also great. I love finding songs that mean so much to you, but over time the meaning can change whether that means something good or bad.

'it suddenly got too loud for comfort
but i'm glad it isn't completely silent anymore.'

Something about these lines were so nice. It's just so great in a way I don't know how to put my finger on, but in a way, you know how it feels.
