Hands

Hands

A Poem by Quinn W

Your strong hands
caress me like I'm made of glass,
like I'll break with the slightest touch.

Ahhh, this short piece speaks volumes — I love it. What I enjoyed most was the ambiguity. For me, this poem can be interpreted in two ways: In one way (the way I initially interpreted it) the speaker is describing how tender and gentle her lover is. Upon my second reading, I interpreted as the speaker describing how her lover sees her as weak and fragile, just like glass. I think my first interpretation was what you were going for, but either way, an emotional impact certainly bleeds through your words, Quinn. Amazing work!
