Gaze

Gaze

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

smokey, star breath of
whirling words and skies, I
deeply inhale

my meager, eager eyes search
horizons line; stretched bindings and
sleep

books! ..books yellow .... brittle pages so
racked  -    back   -    instead of open in
me

snarls! black she wolf bares
fangs and drools cruelly in
sight

golden eyes. no star's light, yet
flashing heavily
pierces.

Seems calm and contemplative and quickly escalates. Things that are beautiful and seductive can bite, and things that incite fear don't always end badly. This one seemed to have a beautiful contrast of imagery and emotion to me, nicely done my friend. I have missed you.

it's like being bitten by the muse, but paralyzed....unable to write anything down---

maybe fear that it won't be good enough...and maybe fear that it won't capture her essence well enough...

this reminds me a bit of the movie Wolf---i am reminded of michelle pffiefer's character...

I could see those golden eyes flashing. What an intriguing scenario. Some people refuse to see the past and make the same mistakes over and over again. Your words are powerful in this one....intense. I enjoyed it. Lydi**

The yellow of the books really intrigued me - the colour of cowards in all the old (and best) cowboy movies - "What's wrong - are ya yeller ??!" before an ensuing gunfight to the death -but what a way to go this time - such allure - the eyes certainly have it E!
Love this!

Dark and remarkably satisfying write. The golden eyes through the dark was an excellent touch coming out of old books. I am impressed with this one.

When words just seem to float off into the horizon, all we have to do is inhale deeply and with those inside words...write something new. I am going to try it and see what happens! Valentine
