On MY Knees Praying

On MY Knees Praying

A Poem by Rachel M. Benson

On My Knees Praying

Eyes wondering from the corner.
Ladies dressed to be mourners.
The pen rolls off the desk.
Sunlight is waning into dusk.
Bare branches across the sky.
Waves lapping their tears fly.
Bondage for prisoners of war.
They are weeping dying please no more.
His unpleasant memories of firelight.
She’s ripping hair from the night.
Her talent is weaning his stories are fleeting.
Their foot prints are mingled almost leaving.
Blurred vision her saint is blind.
Clouded tears she is losing her mind.

This is a nice piece but it seems a little disjointed and almost unconnected. Ask yourself what ties
These things together, it needs the glue to hold it all together. It's alright

I like the images but the rhythm seems jolting to me. Zelligg
