An Enemy in My Domain

An Enemy in My Domain

A Poem by rachielle

An enemy lurks

Around the spaces of my territory

I tiptoe past it

For fear it might wake up

And eat me alive.

Its eyes pierce

Through my entirety-

Leaving uneraseable marks

Of rejection

On my soul.

Sometimes

It is inevitable;

And only hope and prayers

Can save me

From its wrath.

I like the subtle suspense in this! Would have been nicer though if you thrown in some descriptions of this 'enemy' so we could feel along with the worrying persona.

Keep it up!

This was really interesting... Very creepy in a way. It made the a chill go down the back of my neck.

Keep this up... You are doing excellent.

I want to know what it is....I like this a lot. Well written. Subtle. Not too much description so it's up to the reader to decide what it is that's lurking, waiting, stalking. You should read the book "House of Leaves".
