HorizonFlash

HorizonFlash

A Poem by Rante_Anglin

Poem
At the peak of the horizon with your heart round my neck
The words of my own prophet made me think for a sec.

Looking down at the heart a flash of light made me see.
I didn't need to take it because it already belonged to me.

In an instant in a flash I let go of her hand.
And ran to her body I left bleeding in the sand.

Kneeling beside her, heart cradled in both my hands.
I urged it to beat to really understand.

That my "poison" wasn't poison but she had taken it so.
And that I'd torn down her city so we could make our own tow to toe.

Had her city had spies or informants that worked for me.
I'd of been walking to that horizon with her happily.

It feels Iike I've slept 1000 years
And waking up kills
No one to hold or to have changed the flows of blood and it spills

Time can only tell how I truly feel and the wait tears me apart.
Listening to the rhyme stop of my shattered heart.

Tell me you still care tell
Me there is hope
Can't keep going on pretending there is no end to this rope.
