Chanter of Flames

Chanter of Flames

A Poem by Rante_Anglin

In a world far ahead
In the clearing of felled trees
Was a tattered old cottage
In need of repair, if you please

And inside the cottage
If you came there at all
See through the dusty windows
For the man dressed in a shawl

He had long grey locks
And eyes just the same
You must uncover your ears
And hear him sing her name

He sits on the floor
And strums his heart strings
About the woman of the forest
Of the heart break she brings

Great dragon he calls her
Hear my song it's me
I danced in your flames
And burnt the purest part of me.

And in the fireplace burned
The smallest of fires dim
The silhouette of two dancing
Incased within

She spins and she twirls
A skirt made of sparks and shimmers
He steps and he curves
A shirt made of protruding arrow quivers

They outstretched their arms
And they ignite as they touch
Screaming she crumples
He fights the pain till it's too much

They fall back and sigh
Like a separated double helix
They could dance again
And lose their 9lives like Felix.

But each time he calls
It ends the same way
He calls to death
She answer with decay

For the fire they fuel
Is more then wood and coal
If you look at the ashes
You see Their love had the highest toll.

Beware the man in grey
And beware the woman of wood
Forever are their paths crossed
But if they touch it will come to no good.
