Chapter 1

Kayla and Lisa get a new client.

"Lisa! We have a new client! Bring the client book!" I yelled to Lisa, my sister. I am Kayla, by the way. Lisa came rushing down the steps, turned the corner, and handed me the client book. I hung up the phone and wrote: "Jessie Landsmith, Age: 10, Missing necklace, 789-5463, 134 North Orange Street." In the client book. Lisa read my entry and said, "This is going to be hard." I nodded in agreement.

            Later that day, we visited Jessie and asked her about the missing necklace. She said, "I think it may have been stolen. But the only people that have access to my room is my sister and her boyfriend, Caleb Willowsmith." Lisa and I looked at eachother and Lisa said, "What is your sister's name?" Jessie looked Lisa straight in the eye and said, "Katie." We knew right then and there that we had to ask this "Katie" a couple of questions.
