John

John

A Poem by Glee
"

Inspired by Book of Eli

"

Phil was no ordinary man

He was a man with courage

Never ending endurance

Long stamina

And lots of pride

He was a man of honor

A man of honesty

And dignity

A servant who always kept his word

Spoke the truth

And never caused no one no harm

A real man

That’s why he was deeply offended by Laura’s advances

The silky see through dress she wore gently flowed down her hips

Her lips ripe, her breasts full

Her stare straight

Seductive

Expectant

Slipping into Phil’s hotel room

She gently closed the door behind her

She was beautiful

That was undeniable

And she had fallen right into his lap

Phil could not believe his eyes

That a simple, ordinary man like him

Could ever posses such beauty

Sticking her tongue out at him suggestively

Laura started to slide down her sleeves

Phil asked in astonishment

What are you doing

Why are you here

What do you want

The boss sent me

I listen to his word

I’m yours tonight

I’m all yours tonight

You can do with me what you wish

And don’t worry about the pay

I’m on the house tonight

I’m yours tonight

Pay for what my lady

You’re a w***e

If so then I must say leave

Please leave and don’t come here again

I’m actually offended by what you’re saying

Get out now

I don’t need no trouble here

Please sir have mercy on me

I didn’t mean it that way

See all I want is a decent meal and a roof over my head

If I do not work my boss will throw me out on the street

If I do not serve I could starve to death

Please be kind to me dear sir

Forgive me

I’ll even sleep on the floor

But let me stay tonight

I’m really, really sorry

If there’s anything I could do to help please tell me

I’m listening to your story and it must be really sad

Please tell me more about yourself

I’d really like to know

Where do you come from

What’s your name

How did you get here

What do you like

Where do you like to go

Tell me your story and we could pass the time

You see kind sir I’m not from this country

I lost my parents when I was very young

I was sold into slavery at a tender age

Uneducated I had nothing better to do

But to sell myself so I could keep safe

But to offer myself so I could keep alive

See kind sir

That’s not me really

I’m actually a good person

So sorry dear lady

Wish there was anything I could do

I feel your pain and here are a few dollars to get you started

Get out of this house while you still can

Find yourself a safe place to live away from this house

Take this and be off on your way now

I have to be going as well now

I’m leaving on a long journey that I have to make this day

Kind sir thank you very much for your offering

But I cannot accept it

You want to know what I want

That you take me with you on your journey

Where you will go I will go

Where you will live I will live

What you will do I will do

Take me away from this place once and for all

I will follow you everywhere

I will help you anywhere

I will be right beside you all the while

Please take me away and I will be alright

I will be much safer with you

Take me on your long journey and I will be happy
