Embracing Myself

Embracing Myself

A Poem by ReeHarmonia
"

I was picked on for being too dark and having a gap tooth, I became very insecure about my appearance but now I've learnt to embrace what I have.

"
My smile may not be perfect
But I can't hide it away
It makes other people smile
I don't care what you have to say

My teeth may not be like yours
I wish they were made better
I inherited it from my mother
I'm keeping it like this forever

My weight isn't the best
I can't fit into a size eight
But I like it because it's mine
No one gave you the right to hate

My eyes are not beautiful
But they're always open
Taking everything in life
Your negativity to me are broken

My skin is dark
But it's a skin of African beauty
It's something I shouldn't be ashamed of
I'm glad it's mine truly

I don't like my appearance at all
It's something I've always hated
But I'm accepting who I am
Because this is how I was created.
