Choices: Fear or Strength

Choices: Fear or Strength

A Poem by A

Could it be?

The death

Of someone distant

Could affect me so?

How?

Our few talks

Not knowing the touch of one another

Strangers

Loss

Seems to much

To handle

To accept

A horrific nightmare

On one side

He’s lucky

On other

What if he didn’t choose?

I hold my life so loosely

Constantly plotting

On the edge

What if in the moment

His last breath

He begged

Pleaded

Made promises

For

Life

For one more chance

Here I am

Tossing it aside

Useless

No point

Trying

Giving up to easily

Can we trade?

Why am I stuck?

Here

This life

“Chosen”

By me

For me

What’s the point?

Inject the drugs

Pop the pills

Complete the bottle

Poison

Sip

Breathe

Choices

Last breaths

Waiting

Wondering

Why?

Him and not me

I have begged and pleaded

For what he may have

Feared

Choices?

We all make them
