Loving the Unlovable

Loving the Unlovable

A Poem by A

I don’t believe you even know how to love

You sure as hell don’t know how to be loved

How come you could never be strong?

And tell what your fingers so easily typed

You had the opportunities

The chance

To be this man you say that you are

Calling me crazy

When all

I am

Is crazy in love with you

Crazy that I ever fell for you

Crazy that I ever let your lips envelop mine

Crazy that your touch made me shiver with glee

Crazy that I had actual butterflies

Unable to do anything

But try

And breathe

Try and stay alive

So I can shed more love

On you

Someone

That will never

Truly be able

To respect

Appreciate

Or God forbid

Ever love me back

'I don’t believe you even know how to love ~ You sure as hell don’t know how to be loved'

There's a tragic, fragile magic in these words, seem real, laid in a way that shows a heart that knows how to write. Those last two lines .. oh my.
