If I were a raindrop...

If I were a raindrop...

A Poem by A
"

I wrote this poem at age 8... Beginning of my poetry days

"
If I were a raindrop, I would want to fall into the ocean. I would ride on the dolphins and play hide and seek with the octipi. I would swim along with a school of fish while a shark chased its dinner.

Then I would go to Seashell Palace where the merpeople live. Every season the Seashell Palace holds the Coral Fish Ball.  I would swim in and around the coral reef and twirl and dance with the pretty mermaids until we got dizzy and we had to rest.

After resting, we would play softball with the crabs. I would run to home plate and score. I would feel like a professional softball player. Then I would hear my mom calling me "Raindrop, come home for dinner."

By the time I got home, I would be soaking wet from all the precipitation. My mom would heat up some evaporated milk so I could get warm. Then my mom would read the condensation of the great Moby Dick Novel for my bedtime story. That is the kind of day I would like to have if I were a raindrop.

That was beautiful and for an 8 yeard old, that's pretty amazing to put such a dream/fantasy into story form and have it sound intelligible. : ) How very cool!! I wrote a poem at 11, but it's not "nice". It's on here, but not nice.... lol Adorable.... xoxo -Mark

Way too beautiful for an 8 your old child to write. It was a pleasure to go through it.
