The Ocean Stole My Sanity

The Ocean Stole My Sanity

A Poem by Rdmarie

The ocean stole my sanity

Swept out with the passing wave
The salty air within my skin
The water trickling off the flesh’s sin
And all the while I could taste
Him underneath my folds and lips
The sand that kept reality
Was running from my hips
As deeper into the blue we slipped
Below what looked like flicks of stars
I knew I lost my mind whilst floating in the tide
Where land was further than the sea
I swam to the bottom and heard a cry
Yet all I found was the lucidity of me
And came to on the icy beach
Alone and shivering from the breeze
All the while wondering…
