Chapter 3

1. Hear this word that the Lord has spoken against you, O people of these United States, against this whole sordid and disunified people that were swept here by the four winds: 

2.  You think yourself to be a modern-day Israel;

my new chosen nation among the nations. 

Well, if you presume to seize for yourself my blessing,

then accept my judgement as well. 

3.  Does every effect not have its original cause?

4. Does a siren wail in the night

unless there is a fire? 

Do ambulances follow  

If there is no emergency? 

5. Is a driver on the highway pulled over for speeding,

if there is no police lying in wait? 

Does a police officer issue a ticket,

when there is no one on the road? 

6. Is an emergency warning sent to every cell phone, 

and the people are not afraid? 

Does punishment befall a people, 

unless the Lord has done it? 

7. Surely the Lord God does nothing, 

without revealing his secret 

to his servants the prophets. 

8. The siren is wailing; 

who will not fear? 

The Lord God has spoken; 

who can stay silent? 

9. Proclaim to the palace in Iran, 

and to the heights of the Kremlin, 

to our enemies across the world,

and say, “Gather your generals and take a tour of our nation, 

and see what great tumults are within it, 

and what oppression is in its midst.” 

10. They do not know how to do right, 

says the Lord, 

those who store up violence and robbery 

like farmers store grain in silos. 

11. Therefore thus says the Lord God: 

An adversary shall invade this land, 

and strip you of your defense; 

and your hordes of wealth shall be stripped from you. 

12. Thus says the Lord: 

As survivors recover body parts of their families after a drone strike;

a leg, or a piece of an ear, 

so shall your people be rescued, 

with a shred of your designer suits 

and the sole of your wingtips. 

13. Hear, and testify against this wicked house, 

says the Lord God, the God of hosts: 

14. On the day I punish America for its transgressions, 

I will come for the mega churches, 

and their billion dollar houses of excess 

and they will fall to the ground. 

15. And you pastors who peddle prosperity in my name,

I will tear down your winter house 

as well as your summer house; 

and your private jets will burn, 

and your idolatrous distortions shall come to an end, 

says the Lord.
