Cold Eyes

Cold Eyes

A Poem by rhythm&blues

In the warmth of the sun
there is a shiver in the air
your eyes, the color of old man winter
won't allow the frigid cold to heal

I like the juxtaposition of the seasons...the summer sunlight and the eyes that are locked in a state of winter. Sad eyes, windows to the very spirit itself, are possibly the most intensely mournful things in the world. This was well put; simple and concise, but well done in that you did not try to overplay the idea. Well done.

no matter what the actions....the eyes tell the truth...

and they say a lot about how much warmth a person possess, or not.

abstract piece that says so much in so few words...less is more.

really like this.

Awesome! I love the frigid feel of this poem and how the stark contrast of sun and cold meet eachother through a pair of eyes. Because it is true, looks can kill...or in this case freeze time. Beautiful!

it has been postulated that the eyes are the windows to the soul. when we see someone with cold, distant and hateful eyes it makes us feel uncomfortable and cold....this is a terrific poem, short but speaks volumes in its message. well done!

The eyes speak volumes. I can feel the icy contempt in just 4 lines. Well done!

The eyes tel all, don't they? Good metaphor, old man winter as the representation of cold-heartedness. Keep writing!
