Brown and Blue

Brown and Blue

A Poem by Antonio Valentino

Words are like
the breath of
souls
that let us read
our mind.

And still,
they're simply
not enough,
to say the things
we yearn
to say.

That lay upon
the heart
of beauty,
that we simply
somehow
find.

What do you call
a picture
that you’ve never
held before,
or visions
that someone
can only feel.

How does somebody
quote a sense
that sits upon a
sigh
which only
shows the side
you cannot hold.

I guess that one
can only try
to give away their
self
and hope
that it can somehow
finds it’s way.

Just know
that wind blown
leaves
are brown
and high above
is blue.

And yet
I never
saw the sky,
until
I looked,
at you.

First of all, I love how you ended the poem with rhyme. It enticed me to reread it just to have that delicious little rhyme roll off my tongue. Well done!

Second, the juxtapose of brown, fallen leaves and the blue sky is stunning. There is so much room in between the two - room enough for you and your adoration.

April mentioned in a previous review about 'senses.... upon a sigh..." Wow! Beautiful, succinct and poignant.

Take care,
lilain
