andria avenue.

A Poem by Ryan Keller

i make memories but what do they mean
the caffeine he told you was me (in distaste)
that you throw away
like pink rope in grey waste
wed lay miles to it
You and your new shoes
id imagine bright blue
birth and renew
im a temporary
love in the womb
we created from scratch
whittle down our past
to sown hand me downs
and ash
but your shoes are boots
not teal but black
i made memories but im putting them back
waiting to forget
relent and repress
intent to accept
just hold on to the little things
love yourself and watch
well grow
your happiness will latch
when you stop looking
what yourself youve lacked
let it show
what youre hiding
i can see it, (like) little linings
of silver and black
in your favorite dress
i wont pretend
im not a mess
i am.
you are too.
ill ride down andria avenue.
cause it reminds me of you.
