WHEN WE SWIPE A FLOWER

WHEN WE SWIPE A FLOWER

A Poem by Sir Robert Robbie Lord Dudley

the eternal reward is the heart we are

the path we are free joy & change we are

our own worlds, our houses of cards & cardboards coated some

dashes over curtains & closes else was so darkest before

the storm, before the dawn & can shine so bright

appears the cuckoo & the clock's hanging on

when we swipe a flower

planted in a barrel

to behold a-special calm bestills my heart downward waterfalls

slowly beating or sleeping feelings neither alive nor dead sheds

alongside the red road ahead so dark now & then cast

onward the path we are free joy & change we are

when we swipe a flower

planted in a barrel

until the day eternally your's pure as the art indoors

we can lay & we can stay at rest so close each

outdoors opens a window at last & foreverso my shade you & me

do continue onto more stands upon so strong a-pondering aside them wooden screws clamped down so tight

when we swipe a flower

planted in a barrel

so do go on projects objects what may come by now

yet, today unforeseeable we be about

onward, inward, outward the eternal reward

the heart we are the path we are free

joy & change we are instills a-good word at chance because we are mostly so afar

not by far from apiece of course it's right then has light & air

alongside the red road ahead

when we swipe a flower

planted in a barrel
