THE HARD OR TENDER COVER

THE HARD OR TENDER COVER

A Poem by Sir Robert Robbie Lord Dudley

I have look'd throught secret clouds and mist

from times long gone but still exist

and there are seeds in my mind dumping on

they are paper packets torn I planted in poems

that I hope will grow another step forward i go

so big and stronge holding onto my cushion reposing

my seat is worn i then sat down gazing between

torn pages, edges sew'd, so to seek softly by the fireside

through those clouds and mist from times

long gone but still exist in sunshine

gone but still exist in the past, presently

are here now and digging in the dark for more

and one more last look out the door
