I spent half my life in the big city and there is much about them to love, but, you inspire
Cars are nice, you can go for a ride.
Malls are convenient but, most are too wide.
Sidewalks are too flat and streetlights too bright.
But, this is my problem and, this is my plight.
The gangs on the corner wait there for a fight.
Congestion, confusion, temptations and bars.
Robberies, muggings, and rapeings and scars,
I'll go to the forest, the mountains, or Mars,
I'll go to the grass or the trees or the stars.
But, whatever the place and, whenever the time,
We both still agree the world's better in rhyme.

I have been writing for almost 60 years. Writers' Cafe is the best writing site I've found. If you send me read requests, expect me to be blunt. I don't like poor grammar, misspelled words or mistake.. more..
