I see the banshee

I see the banshee

A Poem by Davi Rodrigues
"

The banshee comes to sing her woe when a person is about to die, defeated in battle. I see her, even though the fight is still on.

"
One phrase echoes in my mind
Like a banshee wail
In ascending scale
The words echo
Intertwined

"You are fighting a lost battle"
Are the words I hear
It's the fate I fear
Uninvinting
Fate to settle

I'm all played out, I still toil
I can't mind my bruise
I must try a ruse
Find a way out
Wave my foil

There's no record I have lost
But I am tired
I'm uninspired
I move forward
At what cost?

I like writing in English, don't know why. Sometimes I think I write better in English than in my own language. Portuguese is not so much my thing. more..
