On a moonlit night

On a moonlit night

A Poem by ron
"

A friend gave me a challenge and this is what I came up with

"

On a moonlit night

I watch as you walk down the soft sand barefoot towards me.

Each night it’s the same vision,

the sand, water, moonlight, and you walking with love in each step you take.

But I know as you pass me without seeing me,

I never was part of your dream.

But still in my dreams I see you,

and in the moment of each dream,

I can see you in all your love.

I know you will never notice me,

even in my dreams that fact is clear beyond words.

But I will go to those dreams just to see you,

to feel your steps in the sand of my life.

I know in my heart I could never have you,

my tears fall on the sand,

your words for another cut deep into my heart and soul.

I know these feelings are forbidden,

but I can’t control what my heart feels.

My love for him resides in my dreams.
