A Poem by Jeanette
"

My mom went through radiation treatment a few months ago. Towards the end, she wanted to give the medical team a gift, but couldn't think of what. I wrote this for her to give them.

"

Once upon a time
In a medical office
I recieved treatment
So wary and cautious

My body was sad
What can I say?
If it weren't for the people
At UCLA

The therapy helpful
The nurses kind
They found all my nerves
But I didn't mind

Touched and measured
There I lay
I was very impressed
Faith never went away

The whole thing rather pleasant
And I became educated
On the dealings of
What they demonstrated

So to the Dr.
And all of his Team
I say Thank you
For the whole regime

To Tom and Alfred
Felicia and LaLaine
I am greatful
For the peaceful terrain

For all you do
And all you are
I recognize
We won this war.

Praying for the full recovery of your lovely and conscientious mom.
You thought out the best gift for the medical team.
How your mom caressed you after reading this wonderful piece?

Are the doctors giving your MC the treatment "wary and cautious" in the first stanza or is it the MC that is "wary and cautious"? Either way it changes the meaning. Nice poem. I like that you referenced faith. Dogma is a great little theme in your poem.
