Insomnia

Insomnia

A Poem by Ry Guy
"

A journey of the night.

"
Insomnia my friend,
you've come to visit me again.

You keep my eyes wide open,
the door to my dreams locked.

For you alone are my only friend,
who keeps me company tonight.

Hours we will spend together,
but not a word shall be spoken.

For we are two travelers into the night,
sitting here without any movement.

As the sun rises with it's bright light,
my day beings where it should have ended.

You should not be able to sleep,
I have to stay awake.

Tonight I will come home,
hopefully you will have gone away.

Well crafted, and i must admit i like the closing lines making it feel as if insomnia is more of an individual than a condition. Although at times its a condition caused by people... anyway it was a pleasure to read
