Human Wreckage

Human Wreckage

A Poem by A Calming Storm

I am trying to get better
But it's hard to get better
When everyone is treating me like a porcelain doll
Fragmented and held together with tape.
Passing me around like a bomb,
Nobody wants to hold,
Nobody wants to be responsible for.
For the detonation.
For the pieces of broken glass.
For the broken girl
And the wreckage she left behind.
But I-
I just want to be held,
To hear the soft cooing of someone who loves me.
To feel what everyone else feels.
What everyone should feel.
Loved.

Author's Note

A Calming Storm
A rather dark and dreary poem, but one I'm sure many can relate to.
