Sleepless Nights

Sleepless Nights

A Poem by R Townsend

As I put my head down to sleep
I find myself thinking not of sheep
But rather of those who have shed many tears
And many that hope their end is near
For this world is full of hate
If only we could clear the slate
For peace on earth cannot be won
By those who live by the gun
Serenity must be found within
Only then does peace begin
