Ruby

Ruby

A Poem by Ruby Moon
"

I guess its kind of explaining how i chose my pen name "Ruby Moon". The name came before this poem...just wanted to make that clear, life works in mysterious ways

"

Holding a cutted ruby up towards the night sky,

A prefect design revealed

except for the chips and scratches.

The moonlight playing, running, dancing

around and thru it, highlighting and masking

by turns.

A scar here, a fire there,

a sparkle here, a chip there...

Stories of its journey thru time,

memories etched on...

~~~~~
Memories...
the beginning a lump of rock,
after polished and cutting, a see-thru stone
Useless and of no valued...
No value, save what people give it
A stone worked by many hands,
Some wear it smooth, some shaped it with tools,
some throw it away and some pass it by
This is gorgeous, why have I not seen this one before. I refuse to pick at it or analyse, I will simply enjoy the lovely images you have created. And by the way, I've always liked your pen name. Was never completely certain it was a 'pen name' until now. Well done.
Now the "view" is clearer! This speaks of a life lived beyond its years. Well done, Princess Ruby!
This is really well written, I enjoy the imagery I get. Honestly it makes me think of the stone in Harry Potter; during the flame scene in the dungeons. How the fire sparkled over the red surface and made it shimmer.
Beautiful!
If this is from what you've penned your name...
Forgive me if I'm being too presumptuous, but I not only would be interested in seeing this flawless jewel, I would wonder at the people who have "worn it smooth, shaped it with tools, thrown it away and passed it by". For each person has helped to define what you are and rather, how you see yourself. Those people that we experience in life, if you will, are the ones who help us (the writers) mold our words. Be it for love, a weapon, an angry barrage of violence flung about, it is those people who shape us, mold us, or pass us by, who define us. They are the tools, yet we are the instrument.
I love this. Truly. I can get such a multitude of images and thoughts from this. Well done!
Beautiful! I have always loved the name Ruby Moon, and the knowledge of how it came about gives me even more of an appreciation of it uniqueness. This was written with great expression and metaphors to paint the picture you highlighted so well! ~ Jude xo
