Flower Petals

Flower Petals

A Poem by Ruby Moon
"

Another random piece (thats just so like me) ~

"

Twirl around with the flowers falling

Make a circle, a ring of innocence

Stand in the middle of petals scattered

The symbol of flitting beauty

Of seasons come and seasons pass

The silky feel brushing against your skin

A moment to savour on the way down

Smelling the fragrance, the fragile tone

The alluring scent released, from

the crushed petals underfoot

The bright colours fading

Losing the individual shapes

Being smeared into the mud...

being treasured all the more for that

A moment captured in the mind’s eye

The imagery is highly noticeable in this piece. For some reason, whenever I read something about hurricanes of flower petals, I think of either that scene in Sleepy Hollow, starring Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci, where Ichabod Crane's mother is twirling around in the air, or else of fairy rings, beautiful events to watch at night, while hiding in a bush.

Good poem. I look forward to reading more of your work.

I really liked this vivid piece that expresses feelings about nature. Flowers are one of my loves on this earth, and your narration took me to a beautiful place in my mind. Very Nice *Lana*

Truly appealing.
A thousand apologies for my absence from WritersCafe, but ohhhh how grateful I am to be back and to have THIS waiting for me in my reviewer's box.
Your descriptions capture my imagination. You've utilized all five senses to tantalize the reader and immerse them in your verbal spell.
I can almost feel the sensations brushing across my skin, tickling the fine hairs upon my arms.
The colors exploding before my eyes. Very lush indeed.
Brava darling!
Yours, Emmy

Splendid!
When you first write about the ring of innocence, it brought me to thinking about life and how beautiful and pure we are when we are young, but as we grow, life smears us with mud...

Great insight!
