Moonlit River

Moonlit River

A Poem by Ruby Moon

He faded into the cover of the night...

Never looking back, never seeing the tears glistened on her dry cheeks.

The moon from above lighting them,

Turning the individual tears of diamonds, into a moonlit river

As rivers flow from springs of water,

They come from the window of her soul.

Her countenance breaking now...

With each tear, her light and life reflect in it

Falling out and into the world

As the light and life pour forth...

Crystals of precious memories

A falling star with a faraway wish

The stars within her universe dim
