A Poem by Ruby Moon

What is love?

Is it like a fairy tales

of white knights and princesses

...with happily ever afters?

Or is it like tragedies

such as the famous Romeo and Juliet

...with their misunderstood poison?

How is love like?

Is it like the majestic sunrise

where the rays burst forth

...after gently creeping up on you?

Or is it like the sunset

where the rays paint the sky

...before leaving you with only memories?

Where is love?

“It was love at first sight”

In the eyes?

“I love him... I just know I do”

In the guts and heart?

“I married him because he could cook and clean”

In the brain?

Love is love...

It’s probably different for everyone

We are born knowing it

BUT

we live seeking it

Author's Note

Ruby Moon
Was laying in bed when I thought of something someone said and inspired the first verse. Decided to on my computer and type it out as knowing me, it would melt into nothingness if I don't do anything about it AND I haven't written anything (besides assignments and exams) in a long time anyway. Maybe it has to do with my dreams of flying last night... maybe not... and maybe I am just blabbering XP Anyway, the font is different from what I am using in my words document... It didn't look nice copied over. If anyone is interested, it is font "Tiranti Solid LET" size 15

Ruby Moon,

I spy some similarities in your writing as quotes and questions as seeking and believing.

This is completely different than any of the writes you have written (that I have read, of yours). I commend you on your searching for loves true purpose or meaning, and placing it out there for others to ponder as well.

I am certainly glad you listened to your words and sat down to type it, characteristic of most writers we lose it if we don't write it asap.

Thank you for sharing,

Legacy

(Love is an overly used title, originality relies heavily upon what the poem speaks to you)... to me, it speaks of questioning and seeking.

That was beautiful. The last three lines were incredible, condensed the very idea that everyone is capable of loving.
Great job! :)
