Wells run dry

Wells run dry

A Poem by Rusty

Lips are cracking

No tears for my eyes

Alone but I don't want company

My well, its run dry

Sunburned when bidden

Heart sick as the river ran dry

No wind to sooth my parched soul

No the wells run dry

Not healthy enough to really be sick

Not angry enough to really try

Not hungry enough to spit out the dirt

No the wells run dry, the wells run dry.

Take from my my precious moments

Drink up my juice in front of my eyes

Bathe yourself in the last of my waters

Cause the wells run dry

I'd rather you had it

I'd rather you sustain

Because it was always meant for you

Though I didn't see it that way

Thank you no I'd rather lie here

Feed the vultures from my weary bones

No point in crawling forward

Waters are gone there's no going home

So drink from mine I've lost the craving

Too used to the dirt in my bones

Too far I've strayed when I was bidden

Not enough water to ever go home

I'll lie in this sand until it reclaims me

I far past pretending i need to know why

No hope for the future just hope for the ending

My wells run dry...

Yes my wells run dry.

Good stuff...without the water of love and life...we loose our hope...and our reason for being.
