It's not just another fall

It's not just another fall

A Poem by Rusty

It's not just another fall

Cold wind
Blows strong tonight
Awake though there's no light
Leaves falling to the ground

The chill climbs in beside me
The covers will not hide me
The secrets plain to see
To everyone but me

Wake up
The wind screams out her name
No I'll never be the same
It's not just another fall

The night
Is no place for a man like a me
The only place I want to be
Tangled up beside you

Taught by the wind
Things I never want to know
Like how to grow old slow
It's not just another fall

It buries me
Like falling leaves
Bare just like the trees
Summers hope now at my feet

Falling hard
Every time I'm near her
The stars shine so much clearer
Curled up in a ball
It's not just another fall

The seasons change
But this one is unchanging
I'd surely trade it all
It's not just another fall
No, not just another fall
