Severed hand

Severed hand

A Poem by RD Zeger
"

As a treatment foster parent I cant save them all from bad decisions.

"
Sometimes I cant save a child. Because of the abuse and negligence they received there whole life . They will never trust again. My job is to help them recover. So I stand with them and hold there hand. Occasionally" They still step on those tracks . So I yell and plead " the train is coming , change your direction! " for I stand here half a man ", I too have lost limbs on these very tracks" !
To no avail the train speeds by .
I find my self holding a severed hand!
A voice from below said( you sir are a failure.) I QUESTION my attempt. But a voice from above said( no your not a failure ! The answer is in your hands. That severed hand! You Never Let Go!
And that by God is why I am a foster parent. Win or loose im not letting go .
