How?

How do I love him?
How do I give him my heart?
How do I let him in?
How do I trust him?

How do I do any of that?
I am to afraid to love him
I runaway when he smiles at me
I lie when he asks me questions

I am too afraid of rejection
I am afraid he won't like what he sees
If I tell him everything he wants to know
How do I know he won't run?

I was hurt once before
And I fell to ground
I shattered into a million pieces
And could barley pick myself up again

What if he is the same way?
What if he shatters my spirit?
What if he betrays me?
What if he is everything I hate?

How do I love him?
When love has only treated me wrongly
How do I trust him?
What all I have ever expereinced is lies
How do give myself to him?
When all I can do is run....?

This isn't about really anyone just something I was thinking about I don't trust easily and I am easily broken

You raise many questions throughout this poem and they're questions I think one asks him/herself many times before they agree to accept to go out with someone that they truly love. It is hard, to truly know someone intricately. But that takes time. It was very good and it flowed fluently. Thank you for sharing

To reveil ourselves is to love, to love is to live and to live is to breathe.....We have no choice, do we?
We are all broken, fragmented into tiny fractions, but we do get up again till we meet the one who has the glue, to put us back again.....Your poem says how so many people feel just after their hearts have been broken.
