I'm sorry

I'm sorry

A Poem by sarah

You should have seen your face
That single look
Of sadness
And surprise

I didn't mean to have you hear me
I didn't even know you were there
Standing directly behind me
Listening to me talk about you

I knew I shouldn't have told them
Even if they pleaded with me
For weeks
Years even

I shouldn't have said anything
*sigh*

I'm sorry
I didn't want to upset you
I didn't want you to even know how I felt
I shouldn't have told them I like you

Please don't be upset with me

*tear*

You should have seen his face
A face of confusion
I should have just stayed
His good friend

Why did I try
For something more
I knew it was pointless
I just couldn't help it

*sobs*

I'm sorry
I just....didn't know you were standing behind me

Author's Note

sarah
This is not nearly as good as I had hoped and I had a REALLY hard time putting it together. But to be honest I wasn't trying to make it great I was just writing what I was feeling. I was talking to my friends about the guy I like and I think he heard me, and now he is acting weird and I am really really upset.

People are creatures of the unexplained (if that makes anyt sense) and always turn up when least expected. I think the best poems and stories are the ones where you write what you feel, when you don't use a formula or try to make everyone else happy. Great work, Sarah. Chin up, it will be fine.

Hey, if he doesn't want to be a friend because of overhearing you, then it wasn't worth it to care for him, right? Keep on rolling with the punches...

Very heartfelt and cathartic poem.

I had read your note and then your words.. Your poetry is filled with heart, the painful emotions that rise when we hurt another. I think it has a depth and soul to it, and i wish more people could set pride aside and plead for forgiveness.. It's becoming a lost art..

I am sorry, you got your feelings across really well though.

My Grandfather taught me. "Nothing good to say. Say nothing." Words can be knifes that create wounds and bridges that can be rebuilt. A sad poem. Some wisdom in your words for all. A excellent poem.

Aww I'm sorry. Maybe he's just in a stage of shock. This was a beautiful poem, you poured your feelings into it. Any guy would be lucky to get that kind of attention. So keep your head up, everything will work out fine.

Love it! You bare your soul in this one. Divulge your feelings for another without knowing he was there. What a gift you've given him, the knowledge of your devotion. I would think he would be flattered. Lovely poem.

You painted a canvas full of sorrow here. It's so depressing. I love the emotions as I read, i felt it. It's a great write. And don't worry sometimes that happens to us. I know it may feel like its totally over.. but his thoughts might change. He probably just didn't know you liked him in that way and it shocked him? But don't be too sad over him if it doesn't work out.. I hope things are okay and cheer up girl ^o^ Lovely write! keep going.
