The Mess I Call My Life

The Mess I Call My Life

A Poem by safeuncertainty
"

This is extremely personal. But it feels good to share it. (: Enjoy.

"

thinking back to the days
where you’d leave me breathless
you convinced me it was okay
to let you in this mess
- the mess i call my life

i trusted you with everything
you swore that we’d be safe
you laid me down and held me there
i knew it was too late

i tried to push away
as an attempt to stop the sin
but your grip was getting stronger
i gave up hope, i let you win

you’d taken everything from me
everything i’ve ever loved
my hope, my faith, my virtue
my belief in up above

i now hope that you’re happy
with the girl with self esteem
it won’t be nearly as easy..
as easy as what you did to me
