I Saw You Today.

I Saw You Today.

A Poem by Samantha Lynn

I saw you today,

holding hands with another.

I did not cringe.

I did not collapse and cry,

like I have done many times before.

I just saw that of the

soul that was never meant

to be mine,

And for once I felt at peace.

I can say farewell to you.

Bye.

I just love this poem so much. Having personally been in a similar situation, I can very much appreciate this. You wrote in such an elegant manner the feelings I struggle to express even in my head sometimes. But it is truly a great feeling when you reach that point in your life that you are ready to accept and have truly moved on from something that has been holding you back. Great work!

Hard to learn. We must learn and move on. I like the reason and the strong ending in the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
