Ashen...By Sami Khalil

Healing the bruising...

The Poem:

I planted you,

In the legacy of bruised skies,

In the further callings of noted flowers as colors escape orphanages

And yield to the roots of spring conscience.

I planted you,

Naked with bed full apologies,

Of ceaseless moons with pity on prisoners, who survive daily devotions, wearing the shadows of absence.

I planted you,

In the rebirth of wilted petals,

Who survive in distant valleys, attached to indecision of the hearts,

Footsteps away from light in the broad fields of death.

I planted you,

In my intimate words of wedded vocabulary,

Around soft edges of intuitions where our critics below are confused,

Spinning in a state of head spin.

I planted you,

In the misreading of ashen rituals,

As white temples, churches and mosques stand as living archives to almost divinity, in unison of a lost sermon.

There is so much of the poet's heart and soul that has gone into the effort of healing the bruising.

There are some references in this divinely inspired poetry that will stay etched into my mind for a long time. Like the rebirth of wilted flowers who survive in distant valleys, footsteps away from light- Said so much to me about hope and love!

Like 'the soft edges of intuition' that are the soul of a poetry...

Like ' the ashen rituals of living archives to almost divinity and the lost sermons." The universal theme of all religion.

This poem spoke to me in more ways than one and the credit goes to the beauty of your expressions and your deeply poetic outlook on life.

No words of praise are worthy to do justice to this labor of love.

Planting love in the real soil of realities is most touchingly expressed and lines came so beautiful. So give it a levitational effect in the presence of beautiful and magnificent galaxy along with warm comfortable rays of sun let love roam around as fragrance from flowers or else in absence of bloom let that plant of love itself or process of planting alone even be simply there for something positive. excellent writing. Congrats

I see where you're going with this. Just as a gardener plants seeds in the hope that they may grow to fulfill a purpose, human beings add Placeholders to the Garden of Language in the hope that they may sprout the fruit of yet unattainable references. We wish for a language void of limits, but as in all things provisional we only get what we get, and sadly not what we hoped for. We stand on the ground, but we aim for the stars.

Sammy, old friend. Your poetry has always been a place of healing, and of course, your accompanying art work well suited, and strategically placed. In seems whenever the poet sets out to search for tranquility nature seems to sprout out, of the poem itself. Good to be reading poems again, sir.
